Optimal career planning
The Hogan career compass describes the professional importance of a person’s values, objectives and interests, and interprets their significance for career planning.
Essential: High fit of values and profession
There is a key requirement to having a happy and successful career: A person’s values must be consistent with the requirements of their job or the organizational culture of their company. However, many people plan their career without taking their own values into account. Use the career compass to ensure a good fit.
This is what the career compass has to offer
The career compass is based on the Hogan Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI) assessment. This personality test measures the ten most important values applicable in most cultures. Participation in the online test is included in the purchase price. Based on the results, the compass provides detailed feedback on the following three key topics:
- It illustrates a person’s values.
- It provides information on how these values fit with different professions and organizational structures.
- It describes the kinds of people this person prefers to work and live with – because people like people who share their values.
The career compass is aimed at candidates for the middle management, team leads, sales employees, skilled personnel and HR managers. The report is available without certification.
Structure and content
The report is concisely structured on nine pages. It starts with an explanation of the ten core values that are structured in four clusters: status interests, social interests, financial interests and decision-making behavior.
In the main part, the report interprets the significance of the value profile for a person’s own career. Moreover, it gives detailed tips with regard to drivers, preferred careers and working environments. In the last part, the career compass provides a graphical representation of the value profile.
